NORTH LAKE TAHOE OFFERS SUPERB LAKE VIEWS

BROADCAST VIDEO FOOTAGE AVAILABLE - Preview and download broadcast quality MPEG 2 b-roll footage (AVAILABLE AFTER 1pm, PST on February 19) at http://www.tahoemediacenter.com.

STORY SUMMARY: February 19, 2008 – North Lake Tahoe has a leg up on the competition - amazing lake views via a variety of area ski resorts.

FOOTAGE DESCRIPTION: Footage includes b-roll footage of skiers and snowboarders enjoying the beautiful views taken at Diamond Peak, Homewood and Tahoe Cross Country as well as sound bites (see below).

SUGGESTED COPY: There’s no doubt that Lake Tahoe skiing has some of the best lake views in the U.S. Although many of Tahoe’s ski resorts boast shots of the country’s largest alpine lake, two of the area’s downhill resorts and one cross country center in particular truly offer over-the-top views that will take your breath away.

On the West Shore, the most gorgeous lake views are at Homewood Mountain Resort. Skiers and boarders have the sensation of actually skiing into the lake when shooting down the fast and steep Face trail. At Diamond Peak Ski Resort in Incline Village, the Crystal Ridge trail is the place to make tracks for dynamic, panoramic lake views. On the cross-country front, it’s Tahoe Cross Country Ski Area in Tahoe City with its 65 kilometers of groomed trail that provides the best lake views. Local skiers recommend the resort’s Lakeview and Silver Trails for great shots of Tahoe Blue.

Off the slopes, visitors are gearing up for the 27th Annual Snowfest, which is scheduled for February 29 through March 9. This 10-day celebration is jam-packed with events, including the Squaw Valley USA Opening Night Celebration and Fireworks, Gar Wood’s Polar Bear Swim, Tahoe City and Kings Beach parades, Wacky Winter Bowling and the Tails by the Lake Doggie Agility Course.
